La Doria: «Innovating together with customers»
New product lines, adapting existing ones to new market trends and more efficient plants, innovating information systems and the production process itself. Those are the guidelines followed by the La Doria spa group: «We’re private label manufacturers, so for us product innovation must be accompanied by close cooperation with customers - underlined Giuseppe Tammaro, commercial director for Italy - even though we’re careful to grasp market trends, consumer expectations and put forward new products and processes to our customers and business partners».
The tomato derivatives sector has increasingly healthy recipes, attentive to the balance of nutrients, reduced salt content, free from and bio. «With regard to packaging, we use increasingly sustainable materials aimed at reducing waste, such as the conversion of tomato multipacks from plastic to cardboard».
The group offers specialised know-how in the production of private label products and high flexibility in the customisation of recipes, packaging and service: «In addition, agricultural products and the tinplate for packaging are purchased directly from the source, with checks performed throughout the entire tomato supply chain that reduce the risks associated with food safety to zero». The business model is mainly focussed on private labels: «We act not as mere suppliers, but as real partners for retailers and, thanks to this synergy, we’re able to establish long-term relationships with Italian and international large-scale distribution brands that allow us to achieve high levels of economic efficiency and high standards in product innovation».
