Nilar and Sun Plugged make shopping centers efficient

Ecology also involves technology. It is well-known by CommONEnergy, the European project of energy efficiency of shopping centers, which recently presented two innovative solutions developed by the same amount of partners.

The first one is Nilar 48 kWh, the battery of photovoltaic storage branded, exactly, Nilar, from the entirely Swedish production industry.

The large and very popular shopping centers require enormous amounts of energy that risk dissipating, thus being wasted even when alternative sources are used. Accumulators then become an actual solution to the problem. How? Storing the energy produced by solar panels to then release it during the peaks of maximum need: this way the self-consumption from renewable resources inside the building is maximized.

Based on the technology NiMH, Nilar battery 48 kWh brings additional improvements to a system already containing many benefits. In addition to providing reliable energy and excess accumulation, the model offers maximum safety, being resistant to the risk of explosions or fires. Then, it is modular and can be, therefore, increased (96 kWh, 192 kWh) on the basis of the needs of the individual shopping centers.

The arrival in Italy

The solution has recently come to Italy, at the shopping center Coop MareMà of Grosseto, with an initial installation supervised by Eurac Research, Schneider Electric and Nilar, all involved in the CommONEnergy project. The Tuscan mall is equipped with a photovoltaic system which, in addition to supplying the structure, allows the clients to recharge their electric vehicles.

Nilar 48 kWh is about to invade the Continent, bringing with it an energy efficiency produced by solar panels scattered throughout Europe. After all, in addition to the storage systems, the same panels are evolving and it is precisely in this area that the second innovation presented by CommONEnergy is concerned, that is a thin film for photovoltaic facades, realized by Sun Plugged.

Synthesis of efficiency and aesthetics

Not everyone knows that conventional panels are not always suitable for frontal applications. Hence the necessity to develop a technology ad hoc which, in addition to optimizing energy production, it also guarantees a minimum pressure, only 2kg/square meter. The Sun Plugged solution is compatible with the existing façade systems and, for the delight of the esthetes, it promises a cutting-edge design and the ability to adaptat to any geometric shape. The beautiful passing through to the green.
